Frequently asked questions
With Numy you can get a phone number, make calls and send SMS over the internet, and manage SMS verification for supported platforms.
What can I do with Numy?
Numy gives you a second phone number on your iPhone. You can make and receive calls and send and receive SMS over the internet. In the Verification tab you can also start SMS verification for supported platforms.
Do I need a second SIM card?
No. Numy works over Wi‑Fi or mobile data on the iPhone you already have. You don’t need a second SIM or a contract.
Which countries are numbers available in?
Numbers are available in countries such as the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Availability can change; the app always shows the countries and numbers you can choose from.
How do I get a phone number?
On the home screen, tap the option to get your number. Choose a country and one of the available numbers, then complete the purchase. Your active number appears on the home screen.
What is the difference between the subscription and my balance?
They are separate. The subscription keeps your Numy number active; your balance (credits) pays for calls and texts. To call or send SMS you need an active subscription and enough balance. Topping up your balance does not renew your subscription.
How do I top up my balance?
Tap the top‑up option on the home screen and choose a package. You can review your balance activity in the History tab of the same screen.
What uses my balance?
Calls use credits based on their duration and sent SMS based on message length. Incoming calls and messages may also use credits. You can check the rates in the app’s settings.
I can’t make calls or send SMS. What should I do?
Check your internet connection, your active subscription, the selected number and your balance. Allow microphone access for Numy so that voice calls work. If the problem continues, contact us from Support Chat.
Is my phone number the same as a verification number?
No, these are separate services. Your phone number is for calls and messages. The number you get in the Verification tab is only for receiving the verification code of the platform you chose.
How do I use SMS verification?
In the Verification tab, choose a platform and a country and complete the steps. Enter the number shown to you on that platform. When the code arrives, it appears on the verification screen in Numy and you get a notification.
My verification code didn’t arrive. What should I do?
Codes can take a moment. Open the SMS Verifications list from the document icon at the top left of the Verification tab. If your pending order shows “Try again”, you can continue with it. If the code still doesn’t arrive, contact support.
I paid, but my number or balance isn’t showing. What should I do?
Reopen the app and check the related screen. If the problem continues, write to Support Chat before buying again and tell us the time of the purchase and what happened.
Can I call emergency numbers with Numy?
No. Numy does not support calls to emergency services such as 112 or 911. Always use your regular phone service in an emergency.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Numy and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings → Delete Account. This is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel it in your Apple ID settings first.
How can I contact support?
Write to us in the app from Settings → Support Chat, or email contact@getnumy.com. Telling us which step went wrong and any error message you saw helps us solve it faster.
Still have a question?
